  • While they wait for Superintendent John Allman to recover from a stroke, the Keshequa Central School District is moving forward with Dominic Aloisio as acting superintendent.
“We’re going to continue with Dominic as our acting superintendent. That’s open-ended until further notice,” said Anita Buchinger, president of the school district’s board of education.
Allman, 38, was hospitalized in early February after less than a year as superintendent of the district. He was hospitalized at Strong Memorial in Rochester for what Buchinger said was a stroke.
“I don’t know more than that, or what the cause of the stroke was,” she said.
The board is checking on Allman’s condition on a monthly basis, said Buchinger. The superintendent is recuperating at home and is going through therapy.
Buchinger said she doesn’t know when Allman would return to his position at the school.
“We have no time frame at all with this. We know he’s holding his own while recovering,” she said. “We’re in contact with his doctors on a monthly basis regarding whether he can return to work, or whether he’ll be able to.
“But it’s difficult for the doctor to give a time frame with this type of condition.”
Allman was hired in July 2010 after working at Mexico Central School District as executive director of personnel.
Aloisio is the business administrator for the school, and has held that position since 2004.
