Catherine Grace Cleveland, owner of Nunda Nutritional Counseling, has released her first book, “Sick of Being Fat,” a remedy for weight-loss through a plant-based lifestyle.
If you’re sick of being fat, or if you want to learn how to live a more healthy lifestyle, then maybe this local author has just the answer you’ve been looking for. Catherine Grace Cleveland, owner of Nunda Nutritional Counseling, has released her first book, “Sick of Being Fat,” a remedy for weight-loss through a plant-based lifestyle.
Cleveland said a plant-based diet is different than being a full-out vegeterian. While a vegan is someone who opposes using every type of animal-based product, vegans still eat foods that Cleveland said are unhealthy.
A plant-based diet is a means to keep meats, flour, sugar and processed foods out of one’s system. Cleveland said risks to eating meats include developing cancer and high cholesterol.
“There is no cholesterol in plant foods, it’s only in animal products.”
She referred to a study that states certain proteins found only in animal products, including both meat and dairy products, can lead to various types of cancer. She also said that according to another study, heart disease and diabetes can be reversed through diet.
“To get the knowledge of this is really interesting, but to make the change, it’s a whole other ball game,” she said.
Healthy dieting has been something that has fascinated her for quite a while. As stated in her book’s press release, her two-year-old counseling business includes sessions that range from helping clients reverse their diabetes and heart disease to training professional and amateur athletes on how nutrition can give them the edge over their competition.
Cleveland is also a professional ski instructor and a certified level III member of The Professional Ski Instructors Of America.
“I had so much information, I decided that with my clients and the information that I give them...everything I do, I just put into the book.”
The 138-page book was published last month, and is available through Amazon, Amazon Kindle and nundanutrition.com.
