  • The Keshequa girls hoopsters kept the heat on top-seeded Harley-Allendale-Columbia all night long on Feb. 29 in the class C title game at Gates-Chili. But the Wolves’ 15-8 first-period run held up late for a 53-46 victory that ended the Lady Indians’ season just shy of a sectional title.
HAC raced out to the seven-point advantage in the first. The Indians crept to within five at the half, 26-21, and had it down to three heading into the final eight minutes. Harley pushed it a bit in the final stanza to hold off Keshequa, 53-46.
Keshequa  (16-5) was led by Alex Flint’s 23 points and 14 rebounds, while Gabrielle DiAngelo scored nine and grabbed four boards. Both were named to the All-Tournament team. Hannah Acciari scored five with four rebounds. Kate Forrester and Lindsay Piraino each scored three. Shannon Gordinier added two with four assists and four rebounds. Kristen Jackson had one point and four rebounds.
