Over the previous three seasons, the Lady Mustangs have posted a 47-16 mark and last year finished at 14-7. Top returning runners this year include senior McKenzie Bennett (2009 state meet participant), along with classmates Abbey Pierce and Lauren Campbell and sophomores Breden Gibson and Ellen Quibell. This year’s top newcomers and up-coming harriers are Shira Kuhn, Brittany McChesney, Desi McChesney, Ali McLaughlin and Kate Miner.

“This year’s women’s team has outstanding leadership, fresh ability and motivation to take the group to a new level of distance running,” Auble said.

Dansville boys’ teams are 43-20 heading into Auble’s fourth season and there’s still hope for more success after last year’s 19-2 finish that saw the Mustangs finish second at the Class B sectional race to powerhouse Wayne.

Returning seniors feature Tim McGowan (2009 and 2010 state meet runner), Terrance Muchler and Josh Newcomb along with juniors Brett Barden, Jon Guzzardi, Jimmy McLaughlin and Danny Pierce. Newcomers for this fall include Gunnar Maggio, Alex Johnson, Nicchia McFadden, Brenden Freeman, Noah Bacon and Colby Brokaw.

“This group is motivated and up for the challenges that diligent training and competitive racing brings,” Auble said. “I look forward to being a part of their success this season.”
