  • Robert “Mickey” Wyant, 84, died June 10 at his home in Ochlockonee Bay, Fla.
    Mick was born in 1927 in Hornell, the son of Harry and Pearl Wyant. Mick is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Marge. He is also survived by his children, Shirley (Dave) Schmidt, Alan (Lynda), Stacy (Chris), Craig, Pam (Mike) Thomas and Laurie (Art) Coulson; and his brothers, Jerry (Brenda), David (Bev) and Richard; and sisters, Lucy (Russell) Harper, Vivian Vet, and Pat (George) Jandacek; 17 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brother, Chuck; sisters, Winnie and Marsha; and grandson, Jake Thomas.
    Mick was a 1945 graduate of Arkport High School and was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was a retired employee of New York State Electric & Gas.
    Mick was an Eagle Scout and past Commander of American Legion Post 87, Dansville. He served as a volunteer firefighter with the Ochlockonee Bay Volunteer Fire Department for many years. Mick was an avid fisherman and handyman.
    A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Friday, June 15, at Ochlockonee Bay United Methodist Church, 2780 Surf Rd., Ochlockonee Bay, Fla., Pastor Kevin Hall officiating. The family invites others to join them for a meal at the church following the service.
    In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Big Bend Hospice, 1723 Mahan Center Blvd., Tallahassee, FL 32308. Arrangements by ICS Cremation and Funeral Home, 357 NW Wilks Lane, Lake City, FL 32055.
