The Witches of East End have the magic touch.

Lifetime has ordered the series, based on the bestselling 2011 novel of the same name, to premiere this summer, the cable network announced Thursday.

Set in modern-day Long Island, the drama follows Joanna Beauchamp (Mad Men's Julia Ormond) and her two adult daughters (American Horror Story: Asylum's Jenna Dewan-Tatum and In Plain Sight's Rachel Boston), both of whom have no clue they are their family's next generation of witches. The truth comes out when one daughter becomes engaged to a young, wealthy newcomer. Twin Peaks alum Madchen Amick also stars as Joanna's devious witch sister.

Executive Producer Maggie Friedman, whose credits include Dawson's Creek and 2009's short-lived witch drama Eastwick, wrote the pilot, which was directed by Mean Girls' Mark Waters. The series' 10-episode order will kick off sometime later this year.

"We've been thrilled about Witches of East End and its powerful premise since the moment we bought the property, and our friends at Fox 21 helped develop it for television," Rob Sharenow, Lifetime Network's Executive Vice President of Programming, said in a statement. "This is one of the most exciting ensemble casts we've seen and the whole show is fresh, original and just right for Lifetime."
