Livingston County Sheriff’s Office arrested four Wayalnd men Thursday in connection with thefts in southern Livingston County.
Jimmie J. Lane, 22; Michael D. Pragle, 24; Justin M. Buzard, 20; and Shawn E. Roney, 18 all face charges of third-degree burglary. Authorities allege the four illegally took items, including a safe, jewelry and an ATV from a vacant home and a garage in the town of Sparta.
The four were arraigned in Springwater town court before Judge Haywood and remanded to Livingston County Jail in lieu of $20,000 cash bail or $40,000 bond.
Sheriff John York reported the investigation is also to the Jan. 23 arrest of Matthew Stewart and Lane for a separate burglary. Stewart remains at Livingston County Jail without bail. Lane had posted bail, but the sheriff’s office said he will likely remain at the county jail.
The sheriff’s office, along with the New York State Police, have been investigating thefts of various sorts in the towns of Sparta, Springwater, Groveland and West Sparta in Livingston County as well as others in the town of Wayland in Steuben County.
