The Keshequa boys’ varsity soccer team closed out their 2012 season at the friendly confines of Kiwanis Park as the Indians shut out Perry to gain entry into the Class C2 semifinals on Wednesday.

The Indians played superb defense throughout the night to short circuit the Yellowjackets attack. The orange and black bagged both goals in the opening 40 minutes of play. Chance Karst got Keshequa on the scoreboard when he deposited a pass from Connor Mann into the net at the 28:01 mark.

The Indians were not sitting well with just a one-goal advantage, so they managed to pick up an insurance goal only about 2 1/2 minutes later. This time Jeff Walker found Josiah Scott who drilled one home 30:51 into the game.

That’s all the offense either team would muster on the night. The play was pretty much even as each team fired off 14 shots, as the Indians held a slim 4-3 edge in the corner kicks department. Max Borgus had nine saves in recording the shut-out. Keshequa plays another familiar foe in the semifinals of class C2 when they tangle with the Geneseo Blue Devils.
