It took five tries, but Dansville boys basketball finally made rookie head coach Dave Moodie a winner on Dec. 27 in Nunda in the opening of the Keshequa Tink MacVean Tournament.

Dansville vs. Northstar Christian
The Mustangs came from a small deficit early in the game, but then put on a 31-17 surge in the second half to cap a 56-40 victory.

Dansville (1-4, 0-2) Mitch Lamerson 32 points. Geoff VanDunk 8 points, 8 rebounds. Ray Tighe 5 points, 7 rebounds.

Keshequa vs. Genesee Valley
The homestanding Keshequa boys jumped on the Jaguars from Genesee Valley early in the game and never looked back as the Indians posted a 47-32 win on Dec. 27 in Nunda.

Keshequa (3-4, 0-2) Cyrus Acciari 14 points, 11 rebounds. Justin Coates 10 points, 4 boards, 3 steals. Tyler Piraino 7 points. Nick Faulds 7 points. Terry Forrester 5 points, 7 assists. Tim Cassidy 3 points. Bub Duttweiler 1 point.

Dansville vs. Keshequa
Building on the momentum established on Tuesday night, Dansville kept rolling to sweep the Keshequa Tink MacVean Tournament. On Thursday, The Mustangs went head-to-head with the host team with a 10-1 run in the third quarter en route to a 54-39 final.
Dansville took a 14-6 lead after the first period of play and made it a 10-point margin at the half, 25-15. Dansville’s defense came to the forefront in the third period when they limited the Indians to just one point while pulling ahead by 21 points.

Dansville (2-4, 0-2) Mitch Lamerson 14 points, 5 rebounds. Gio Mountzorous 10 points, 3 steals. Geoff VanDunk 8 points. Ray Tighe 6 points. Brandon Day 4 points, 5 rebounds. Dan Pierce 4 points. Will Brooks 3 points, 5 rebounds. Jack Toomey 3 points. Steve McDonald 2 points.
