The high school bowling season is underway and there are several local teams that should be in the hunt for league and sectional championships during the 2012-13 season.

Both the Bloomfield boys and Honeoye girls bowling teams are coming off Finger Lakes West and Section 5 championships last season.

The Bombers went 84-0 during the season and didn’t graduate any of their top bowlers, so they are eyeing a repeat.

The Bulldogs went 81-3 and claimed their fourth-straight sectional title. Honeoye graduated three of its top bowlers in Brittany Spencer, Courtney Malloy and Sarah O’Leary, but returns a pair of league all-stars.

The Canandaigua girls and Victor boys are coming off Monroe County league title. The Braves didn’t graduate any of their starters and the Blue Devils return three of their top bowlers.

Newark’s boys are coming off a Class C championship and the Penn Yan boys are coming off a Finger Lakes East title and second-place finish at sectionals.
