The Wayland-Cohocton (1-0) boys swimming squad opened their season on Nov. 27 with a victory over visiting Canisteo-Greenwood (0-1) by an 89-76 final.
“It was a nice way to open the season, but we still have a lot of work to do to improve everybody's times,” Golden Eagles coach Rob Hughes said. “The boys have worked hard in the pre-season and have continued that sustained effort into the start of the regular season."
The Golden Eagles had a pair of double winners as Kyle Kelly took the 50 freestyle and 100 butterfly while Donnie Martell won the 200 individual medley and the 500 freestyle.
