Dansville Rotary Club is set for the annual Rotary Club Tip-Off Basketball Tournament. The event is set to unfold Thursday through Saturday, Dec. 6-8, at Dansville High School’s gymnasium.
One of the good things, according to coordinators Jim Day and Jon Shay, is the fact that we again have four teams in the tournament and it’s the second year in a row that the same quartet of clubs have remained intact. One of the biggest factors down through the years was finding four teams to participate in the affair.
For a number of years the tournament became a round robin with just three teams involved, but the field is back to the regular four-team tournament once again.
The schedule for this year's Rotary Tournament maps out this way:
- Thursday, Dec. 6, Wayland-Cohocton vs. Dansville. Junior varsity at 5:30 p.m. Varsity at 7:15 p.m.
- Friday, Dec. 7, Greece Odyssey vs. Perry. Junior varsity at 6 p.m. Varsity at 7:30 p.m.
- Saturday, Dec. 8. Junior varsity consolation game at 2 p.m. Junior varsity championship at 4 p.m. Varsity consolation at 6 p.m. Varsity championship at 7:45 p.m.
Proceeds from the tournament will be donated to numerous Rotary projects throughout the area.
