HORNELL — Mac Congdon scored two first half goals as the Hornell Lady Red Raiders traveled to the Cohocton Sports Complex on Friday evening and captured the 2-0 win over host Wayland-Cohocton.
Hornell dominated most of the game, firing 23 shots on goal while allowing Wayland-Cohocton to generate just six chances on net. Rebecca Clifford had four saves in the win, recording her seventh shutout of the season.
Abby Austin and Jaden Sciotti each picked up assists on Congdon’s goals Friday.
Hannah James was solid in goal for Wayland-Cohocton, making seven saves.
Still undefeated Hornell (8-0-3) now heads to Bath-Haverling Monday evening for a 7 p.m. road contest against the rival Rams.
Wayland-Cohocton dropped back to .500 at 5-5 and will travel to Class A Batavia Monday for a 5 p.m. start. The Eagles then return home to take on rival Wednesday night at 7 p.m. in Cohocton.
