This year was different – more mourners, more police, more media were present than in prior years to usher the city into another phase of healing. Some visitors on the streets surrounding ground zero were reflective as the National September 11 Memorial and Museum ceremony winded down. Few were worried about the threat of another terrorist attack, even standing in crowds thousands strong on what’s arguably America’s most hollowed ground.
Melodic choir voices provided a stark contrast to the agony present on the faces and near-audible ache in the hearts of those at the 9/11 memorial ceremony Sunday.
