I was deeply saddened last year at my daughter Hannah’s Pre-K graduation when I learned that Ms. Crupi had announced her retirement. It was because of this wonderful woman, that I learned of so many fun, quirky and most important, educational songs.

Anyone who had Joan Crupi could probably sing word for word the “Honk-honk, Rattle-rattle, Crash, Beep-beep” song or remember how big her smile was when she heard all of her students sing to the beautiful music that she taught so many over the years. He voice would always ring out above the class with such happiness and joy. Seeing her perform at my daughters Pre-K graduation filled me with joy and warmed my heart just as it did 32 years ago. I will be sure that Hannah knows how blessed she was to have such wonderful, kind and fun loving woman for a music teacher. I will also be sure she never forgets her songs as well. Seeing how she still sings them, I have a feeling that like me, she will never forget.

In closing, I want to say that even though you never knew it, you made a huge impact on me and my daughter. I am sure there are many more too. Enjoy every minute of your retirement, but please never forget that you were an inspiration to many.
