My name is Karen Schleyer, and I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. I am the Unit President for our Dansville CSEA local and represent the village employees who serve our community. I work in the village clerk’s office and have done so for 19 years.
Our employees’ combined years of service total 191, for which we are quite proud. Although we are only a dozen strong, we are the ones who ensure that your homes have clean drinking water, that your streets are paved, plowed, and maintained; your brush and leaves are picked up, and your wastewater safely disposed. Our unit works hand-in-hand with our local government and mayor to provide these services and do the best job possible.
Please remember that we work for you, and love this village as you do, and will strive to make it, as a former mayor coined “the best place to work, live and play.”
As the 10th anniversary of 911 approaches, I felt this was an appropriate time to remember those who work for you, and give special recognition to our police, fire, ambulance, and EMTs, who continue to respond valiantly whenever the need arises.
Thanks for giving me a moment of your time, and God Bless our village, state, and this great country.
