Wayland — Lois Anne Lasher, age 88, passed away peacefully Monday, Sept. 25, 2017 at her home.
Lois was born March 28, 1929 in Wayland, a daughter of the late Leroy and Helen (Rosencrans) Tenbrook. She was a graduate of Wayland High School and received her teaching certificate from Geneseo State College. Lois taught at Holland, NY; Penfield; Arkport; and finally Cohocton Central School, where she taught second grade from 1954 to 1984. In addition to her parents; she was also predeceased by her husband, Frederic A. Lasher on October 14, 1963; and her brother, Forbes Tenbrook on February 9, 2011.
Lois was a member of the Wayland-Cohocton Retired Teachers’ Association. She enjoyed reading and talking with friends. She especially loved to see her former second graders and would often run across them when she went out.
Lois is survived by her sons, William Lasher & David Lasher; a niece, Ann (James) Owens; several great nieces and great nephews.
Per Lois’ request there will be no services. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family at the Village Cemetery, Wayland.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wayland Free Library, 101 West Naples St., or the Vincent House (Comfort Care Home), PO Box 566, both of Wayland, NY 14572 or a charity of the donor’s choice in memory of Lois.
