The eighth Annual Great Strides for Comfort Care Walk benefitting the Vincent House has been postponed to Saturday, Oct. 20, at the Wayland-Cohocton Track. This annual event has become a major fundraiser for The Vincent House many years raising over $10,000. The Vincent House is a two-bedroom home for the terminally ill. We offer compassionate care to those determined by their physicians to be within the last three months of their lives.

A referral to Vincent House ensures that care is supervised and continues. Care at Vincent House focuses on pain control, symptom relief and on meeting the spiritual and emotional needs of the resident, family and friends. There is never a charge tot he resident or family, nor does Vincent House receive any health care reimbursement. The cost of operating The Vincent House is covered by donations from the community, memorials and fundraising activities like the walk-a-thon.

Information will be available on the Vincent House website and the Wayland-Cohocton website. If you have raised money in anticipation of the event and would like to contribute that money now, please contact The Vincent House at 585-728-2427. You may also hold onto your donation until the walk, or continue fundraising. The Vincent House hopes that by postponing, the event is more successful and loads of fun for the participants.
