Maureen Mahany Palmer, 70, passed away early Thursday morning, Oct. 18, 2012, at Highland Hospital in Rochester.

She was born in Dansville on Feb. 11, 1942, a daughter of the late Frederick and Iva (Werth) Mahany.

Maureen was a secretary for Monro Muffler in Rochester for many years. She was a former communicant of the Holy Family Catholic Community at St. Mary’s Church in Dansville.

She is survived by her dear companion, Lynn Davis of Rochester; three sisters, Donna (Dwight) Pitts of North Carolina, Christine (Jim) Wallace of Dansville and Deanna (Jan) Johnson of Alabama; a brother, Fred (Sue) Mahany of West Sparta; two uncles, Roy (Pat) Werth of Dansville and Richard Mahany of Webster; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call Tuesday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Hindle Funeral Home, Inc., 271 Main St., Dansville. A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church in Dansville. Online remembrances may be left at HindleFuneralHome.com.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Pluta Cancer Center, 125 Red Creek Dr., Rochester, NY 14623.
