If you’ve never been to the hill climb, nor seen a photo of the notorious hill, this shot at the hill's half-way point pretty much says it all.

 Three event highlights

1 Now in its 16th year, contenders will come from as far as California and Canada to take on the toughest hill in the sport – Poags Hole hill at 500 feet tall and at an 80-degree angle.

2 Poags Hole is a professional motorcycle hillclimb which will feature 10-feet long, 300 horsepower nitro-methane powered motorcycles, plus regular-sized bikes competing side-by-side in an x-climb.

3 Unlike other venues for the sport, Poags Hole promotes this festival as a family-friendly event. But note that pets, bottles, fireworks, trailers and campers are prohibited.

Why you should attend
“Thrills, spills, great food, great spectator sport and there’s no other sport as crazy as hillclimbing than bullriding.” — Mike Mistretta, organizer
