Doris L. Losey, 89, formerly of Sparta, passed away Thursday morning Sept. 1, 2011, at the Livingston County Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in Mt. Morris where she had been a resident for the past year.
She was born in Wayland on June 9, 1922, a daughter of the late George and Helen (Schwingle) Wolfanger. On July 3, 1941, she was married to Charles Losey who predeceased her on July 19, 1991. She was also predeceased by a daughter, Judy Davis; a grandson, Jim Losey; a daughter-in-law Margery Losey; and siblings, Helen Lown, Jeanene Gilbert and George Wolfanger Jr.
Doris was a machine operator at several area businesses including, Gunlocke Chair Company, Dubois Plastics and Lemmings Service. She was a member of the Wayland American Legion and VFW Auxiliary. In her free time she enjoyed doing crafts.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda (Roger) MacDonald of Sparta, a son, Elwin “Butch” (Bonnie) Losey of Dansville; a son-in-law, Arthur Davis of Wayland; a sister, Kathryn Hynes of Mt. Morris; a brother, Donald Wolfanger of Wayland; five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
