Preliminary primary poll results

Bill Nojay won the Republican primary for the 133rd State Assembly seat Thursday night. Unofficial polling numbers had Nojay receiving 57.9 percent of the vote. His opponent, Richard E. Burke had 42 percent.

Nojay received 3,442 votes, Burke received 2,500. There were three write-in votes.

Nojay will now face Democrat Randy Weaver, a Steuben County legislator, in the November election.

Meanwhile, the Republican race for district attorney in Livingston County was too close to call Thursday night. Attorney Steve Sessler held a slim 19 vote lead over Eric Schiener.
