"Les Miserables" topped the Christmas box office, grossing approximately $17.5 million on its opening day. The film adaptation of the eponymous Broadway musical beat out Quentin Tarantino's latest project, "Django Unchained," for the top spot, though "Django" still made over $14 million. Also released yesterday was the family comedy "Parental Guidance" starring Bette Midler and Billy Crystal. "The Hobbit" was released earlier this month, but still made $10.8 million in Christmas Day viewings.

Caroline Kennedy hosts the 35th annual Kennedy Center Honors, which claims to pay tribute to "the very best of American arts and letters." Dustin Hoffman, David Letterman and the members of Led Zeppelin that are still alive will be honored, among others. If that doesn't excite you, Tina Fey, Alec Baldwin, the Foo Fighters, Jack Black, Robert DeNiro and Morgan Freeman are all slated to either present awards or perform. CBS 9 p.m. EST.
