Caroline J. Jacobs, 74, passed away peacefully Wednesday evening, Aug. 29, 2012, at the Leo Center in Rochester.

She was born in Dansville on Nov. 15, 1937, a daughter of the late Clarence and Bessie (Green) Wallace. On Dec. 10, 1955, she was married to James Jacobs, who predeceased her on March 13, 1999. She was also predeceased by a son, Gary Jacobs; and a sister, Patricia Jaeger.

Caroline was a longtime faithful member of the South Dansville United Methodist Church and served as secretary and treasurer. She was instrumental in obtaining the new location of the Gathering Place in South Dansville. In her free time she was an avid collector of Antiques and craft vender at area craft shows. She was a clerk in the gift shop at the former Ideal Lumber in Dansville.

She is survived by her children, Tim (Laura) Jacobs of Rochester and Doug (Tosha) Jacobs of Buffalo; grandchildren, Sarah (Nicholas) Belle, Brian (Jill) Jacobs, Kayla Charvat, Shauna Reynolds, Bethany (Eliot) Giebel; great-grandchildren, Colin, Carly, Emma Giebel, Violet and Ruby Jacobs; sister, John (Barb) Wallace of Colorado and Edith (Paul) Eller of Texas.

Friends called Saturday 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Hindle Funeral Home, Inc., 271 Main St., Dansville, where services were held at the completion of calling hours. Interment was in Forest Lawn Cemetery, South Dansville. Online remembrances may be left at hindlefuneralhome.com.
