Lamar S. “Butch” Thompson, 69, passed away peacefully, Monday, Aug. 27, 2012, surrounded by family and friends at the home of his granddaughter after a long illness.

Butch leaves behind his three daughters, Marla Thompson, Denise (Benjamin) Gordon and Debi (Denis) Fousse; he also played “dad” to their half sister, June Hillier; nine grandchildren, Benny Randi, Stephanie, Mike, Monique, Katlyn, Jacob, Max and Denise; several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Butch loved music, traveling, hanging out with family and friends. He also was called the “Tie Dye King” as that was one of his favorite hobbies. He once had an article written about him in the Hornell Evening Tribune.

His family would like to send a special thank you to the nurses from Southern Tier Hospice for all their help and care; and to Chip Baird from the Walter E. Baird & Sons Funeral Home for helping us through this tough time.

A private memorial service was held at the convenience of the family.

Contributions of aluminum can tops to Wayland-Cohocton Elementary School Office, 2350 State Route 63, Wayland, NY 14572 in memory of Butch Thompson. Those who wish to light a memorial candle for Butch may do so at www.bairdfuneralhomes.com.
