Corinne M. Wolfanger, 82, passed away peacefully early Friday morning, Aug. 31, 2012, at home surrounded by family.

She was born in Mount Morris on Oct. 2, 1929, a daughter of the late Charles and Charlotte Haywood Miller. She was also predeceased by a sister Randa Towne. On March 20, 1948, she was married to Ralph Wolfanger who survives.

Corinne worked at the F.A Owen Publishing Company, the G.C. Murphy Company, the Outdoor Store, in the office of C.W. McNair Nurseries and she retired from Noyes Memorial Hospital as the executive secretary to the hospital administrator.

She was an active member and past president of the Livingston County Young Republican Club. Corinne and her husband, Ralph, were active as volunteers in their community, working bake sales, dinners, and baking pies. They were active with the Livingston County 4-H assisting with the county fair, transporting horses and other duties that needed to be done. They were chaperones to many children to the New York State Fair through 4-H. For several years Corinne and Ralph owned and operated The Corner Store in West Sparta from where they provided turkey dinners for people at Thanksgiving and Christmas. They also delivered presents and goodies to local families in need.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years Ralph Wolfanger; three children, Marjorie (Larry) Cansdale of West Sparta, Timothy (Nancy) Wolfanger of Dansville and Pamela (Randy) Cox of Texas; a sister, Aletha (Robert) Guy of Dansville; 12 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
