Special the the Express

Dansville’s Main Street was temporarily disrupted by a collision involving three vehicles on a Nov. 10.

At the intersection of Main Street and Clara Barton Street at approximately 2:20 p.m. on the Saturday, according to Chief Fire Officer Brian Wood, a minivan containing five passengers ran a red light. The minivan was subsequently T-boned by a sole driven two door sedan that was coming across Main Street. The sedan forced the minivan to spin into an SUV, also containing a single passenger, which was waiting at the light.

The minivan was a state vehicle that had four Livingston-Wyoming Arc clients on board. Police and emergency services were quick to respond to the scene. Also according to Chief Wood, the four Arc clients and their driver were taken to Noyes Hospital for evaluation. The driver was complaining of neck and back pain but there were no major injuries to anyone on board, nor were the drivers of the other two vehicles injured.

The sedan and SUV drove off with minimal damage, while the ARC minivan received the most afflictions and was towed away by Main Tire of Dansville. With a crowd of onlookers peering down from the steps of Dansville’s post office, police and emergency officials cleared up and straightened the mess, restoring Main Street to its more tranquil Saturday rhythm.
