Steuben County Sheriff’s deputies have apprehended a Dansville man in connection with a sexual abuse investigation.
Joseph Volta III, 36, of 9470 Oak Hill Road, Dansville was last seen at 3:30 p.m. Monday wearing a camouflage sweatshirt, blue jeans, and black and white Adidas sneakers.
Volta was described as a white male, 5 foot six inches tall, 230 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes and has a mustache.
According to a release from the sheriff’s office, Volta informed his wife that he would not return to jail and fled the residence on foot just before deputies arrive. Volta is on felony probation and was thought to be in possession of a camouflage compound bow.
He was apprehended around 8:30 a.m., according to Sheriff Joel Ordway, and is now being transported to Bath.
