Mark Hopkins, President of Springwater Trails writes that the severe weather watch issue for last Sunday forced the Springwater Trails hiking group to postpone the hike and paddle planned for Canadice Lake until this Sunday. This is a joint hike between Springwater Trails and the Livingston Outdoors Club. Boaters will use kayaks and canoes to explore the southern end of Canadice Lake, while hikers will cross the inlet to the lake on the south end and continue up the west side of the lake. They will meet the climbing group that will come down from Rob’s trail and will come south on the west side of Canadice. Canadice is such a beautiful lake that we are looking forward to a fun hike and paddle followed by great food at the lakeside. All Western Evergreen Nursery & Christmas Tree Farm will be represented on Monday, Aug. 27, from 12:30 to 5:00 p.m. at the Christmas Tree Farmers Association of NY exhibit outside the Horticulture Building. We invite you to come out and visit. The wreath contest is back!
