The northbound ramp off Interstate 390 exit 5 in Dansville was closed after 6:45 a.m. Wednesday while emergency crews responded to a truck fire.

Dansville Fire Chief Brian Wood explained the truck hauling powdered milk product and perishable food items was traveling northbound on I-390.

Preliminary investigation shows the brakes on the trailer seized and started a fire in the axle that spread to the trailer.

The trailer and the contents are a total loss.

There were no injuries. The exit reopened around 10 a.m.
