Helen A. Veley of Dalton died Saturday, June 30, following a brief illness.

She was born Dec. 8, 1929, in the town of Dansville, the daughter of the late Robert and Bessie (Hartman) Acomb.

She was also predeceased by brothers, Lewis, Andrew, Robert, George and Scott; sisters, Margaret Brew and Ruth Wilson.

She is survived by her husband, Earl; daughters, Valerie (Donald) Griffing of Dalton, Vickie Veley of Arlington, Va., and Vessa (Scott) Fisher of Warsaw; grandchildren, Joseph and Katie Fisher; sister, Bessie Merrill of Newville, Pa.; sister-in-law, Dorothy Acomb of Dansville; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Helen was a member of the Keshequa Grange and was former 4-H leader.

Friends and family may call Wednesday, July 4, from noon to 2 p.m. at the Mann Funeral Home, 44 N. State St., Nunda. A funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery in the Town of Dansville. Memorial donations may be made to the Nunda Ambulance Corps, P.O. Box 652, Nunda, NY 14517.
