DANSVILLE — Sharon L. Huss, 72, passed away Friday Jan. 18, 2013, at Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville.
Sharon was born Aug. 30, 1940, the daughter of Richard and Wanita (Sawdey) Gilbert in Wayland. She grew up in and has remained a resident of the Scottsburg/Dansville areas her entire life.
Sharon was employed as a health aide for many years, beginning at Craig Colony in Sonyea and for over 30 years at the Finger Lakes DDSO facility at the Southview Complex in Wayland. Sharon enjoyed reading, puzzles and especially lottery tickets. In her younger years she enjoyed playing bingo.
Sharon was predeceased by her parents, Richard and Wanita Gilbert; her brother, Maurice Gilbert; her sister, Joanne Hendershot. She is survived by her daughter, Dawn Quanz; and her husband, Duane, of Wayland; her grandchildren, Daniel Quanz, Casey Quanz (Kendra McMahon) all of Wayland, Cori (Michael) Bowers of Fairport; her great-grandchildren, Cheyne Teed of Wayland and Morgan Bryant of Fairport; her sister-in-law, Janet Gilbert of Garwoods; her four nephews, Duane Gilbert of Dunkirk, David Gilbert of Dansville, Dennis (Theresa) Gilbert of Dansville and Darryl (Kathy) Gilbert of North Carolina; along with great-nieces and nephews.
Sharon's family and friends called Saturday at the St. George-Stanton Funeral Home, 109 West Naples St., Wayland, followed by a funeral service at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Union Cemetery at the convenience of her family. Contributions in Sharon L. Huss's memory may be made to the Hornell Humane Society, 7649 lndustrial Park Rd., P.O.
