As Christmas is celebrated around the world, it is especially special in American small towns.
Nunda has celebrated Christmas in Nunda for six years, a joyous way to begin the holiday season.
This year’s celebration begins at 9 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 2 with vendors setting up around town, then the shops open at 10 a.m.
Bell Memorial Library will have a story time at 10:45 a.m, and then at 5 p.m., the fire hall will sponsor chili, chili dogs and cocoa. SPA Ministries will begin caroling at 6 p.m., and then a concert at Trinity Church at 7 p.m.
At 8 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 3, Santa will arrive to greet visitors during a special pancake breakfast at Bill’s Restaurant.
Shops, vendors and Bell Memorial Library’s book sale opens at 10 a.m.
From 11 a.m. until gone, Grizzley’s BBQ will have chicken and ribs available. At noon, the Nunda Historical Society will be open until 5 p.m. with a book signing.
At 2 p.m., SPA Ministries will begin caroling, and horse-drawn wagon rides will commence until 4 p.m. At 3:45 p.m., awards will be given for home and business decorating; and at 4 p.m., Santa will arrive at the gazebo to greet youngsters. SPA Ministries will also begin caroling again.
At 6 p.m., festivities will close with the Grand Christmas Light Parade.
