The other day I was looking out of my office window and observed a town of North Dansville vehicle rolling by. It dawned on me that I had been remiss in my last column about acknowledging the contributions of town personnel in various village projects.
From the outset of my administration, both Supervisor Dennis Mahus and Highway Superintendent Jim McWhorter offered assistance to the village, and true to their word they have lent a hand whenever we’ve asked, especially with public works projects. McWhorter and Village Superintendent of Public Works Scott Tracy have worked very well together, and I think, when you add up the numbers, the village has received far more than we have given.
It is a similar relationship between Mahus and me, as well as between the town and village clerks. I don’t want to leave readers with the false impression that we sit in a circle holding hands and singing “Kumbaya.” What we have is a consensus-building and cooperative working relationship based on mutual respect, with the interests of the entire community at heart. It not only works very well, you expect it!
In closing, I extend my appreciation to the town for its spirit of cooperation and responsiveness. I look forward to continuing this partnership.
God bless and remember that there is no “I” in teamwork.
