Event highlights
1 The festival kicks off Friday with a spaghetti dinner in the First Presbyterian Church at 4 p.m., then a prince and princess contest for Wayland-Cohocton kindergartners at 6 p.m. A soccer tournament at 7 p.m. and a football game at 7:30 p.m. will round out the evening.
2 Saturday starts off with a car show, new to the festival, at the elementary school beginning at 8 a.m. The village greens will swarm with its popular arts, crafts and flea market from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; the annual parade will start at noon; then a Spud Jug soccer game will commence at 7 p.m. followed by fireworks at 9 p.m.
3 Sunday will start with an agricultural exhibit at the elementary school at 8 a.m.; the many attractions on the village greens will again run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; a “Great Ducky Derby” will go on at the Maple Ave. bridge to support the Wayland Community Chest; a candy run for children will start at the sports complex at 2:30 p.m., and the festival will end at 5 p.m.
