The Cohocton community will no longer be seeing two of its long-time postal employees.

With more than 65 years of combined service, rural route carrier Ron Towner and Postmaster Deb Tokar have both decided to retire together. A community celebration for their retirement was at the Cohocton Post Office July 27 with cake and refreshments.

For the time being, temporary replacements have been hired. Stephanie Taft from Wayne Post Office has been hired as the temporary officer in charge, and Nick Lincoln has been hired to temporarily fill in Towner's route.
