DANSVILLE — With Labor Day weekend in the rear view mirror and children back in school, there are many elves across the community working feverishly to prepare to bring Christmas joy to families dealing with tragedy.  The Santa Hat Society has much to do before this magical morning arrives.

Since there are so many families in need of their services this year, they are celebrating the amazing support received from United Way of Livingston County. The mission of the United Way is to engage and challenge our community to provide support for non-profit agencies addressing the most pressing social needs of residents in our county.

Santa Hat Society was formed for the charitable purpose of providing Christmas gifts to families with children, who have suffered a traumatic loss of a parent or child, who may have an immediate family member battling a serious or incurable illness or may be a hard working family suffering serious financial distress through no fault of their own.

The major fundraiser again this year is a cash raffle. Join the community for the drawing to be held during Winter in the Village on Main Street in Dansville on Saturday, Dec. 1.
