DANSVILLE — Dansville Free Methodist Church is bringing something inspirational to the community.

Sherry Anne is an elegant singer who uses her faith-based passion to blend Southern Gospel, Blues, and Country with a message of hope.

On Aug. 11 from 1 to 5 p.m. Sherry Anne will perform at the Genesee River Hotel at 134 N. Main Street in Mount Morris.

Dansville Free Methodist Church members requested she come and sing for not only their congregation, but the entire community. Sherry Anne offers an inspirational story, light refreshments, and some uplifting music at these events.

Sherry Anne was born with a bilateral hearing and speech impairment, but this never stopped her from fulfilling her dreams.

Dansville Free Methodist Church Member Peggy Logue said her and three others had a chance to meet her at Family Life Ministries last November.

“She gave an inspirational speech, and her voice was so beautiful,” she said. “We approached her and asked if she would come and speak for us. She is such a big name in Southern Gospel music right now. This is the first time our church has requested someone this big.”

Logue said that although Sherry Anne is partially deaf she still has a very elegant singing voice.

Dansville Free Methodist Church has welcomed a new pastor, Colleen Dick, who is very thrilled to have this opportunity for the small church.

“We chose to have it at the Genesee River Hotel, because that is a nice public place. Some people might not be comfortable coming to a church, but they would come to a place like this,” Logue said. “We are calling it Come To The Table; A Community Gathering. Anyone is welcome to come to the event. It is $15 a ticket.”

Sherry Anne talks about how hope is everything in overcoming those hardships in our lives.

“It was a Leap of Faith to invite Sherry Anne to our church,” Logue said. “You really can’t help but be delighted to meet her.”

This event is to provide community outreach, and is open to those who need a message of hope.

Sherry Anne also talks about those coping with shame, low self-esteem, or any other personal challenges. Special Guest speaker and Biblical Counselor Sharon LaBella will be at the event as well.

Anyone interested in the event or purchasing tickets can contact Peggy Logue at 585-335-6252 or Marjorie Paulman at 585-296-5453.
