BINGHAMTON — On Wednesday, New York State Electric and Gas (NYSEG) warned customers about a pending weather event that could cause more power outages through the remainder of the week.

“We are closely watching weather forecasts and making sure our storm response team, crews and contractors are ready for whatever this next winter storm may bring our way. Stay updated with the latest Outage News,” a statement from the company said.

However, customers can prepare for an outage event by reviewing the company’s Storm Emergency Guide and safety tips available on their website. You can also stay informed with text, email or voice message updates, by enrolling in NYSEG’s free Outage Alerts service. Once enrolled in text Outage alerts, simply text STATUS to 697348 for an outage update any time.
