DANSVILLE — Making memories for friends and family. Winter in the Village begins with the Jingle Bell 5K and Pancake Breakfast at the Community Center on West Ave at 9:30 a.m.. Write a letter to Santa at the Dansville Post Office from  8 a.m. to noon or visit the Craft Show at the Town Hall during the day. There are two more craft / vendor shows one at Genesee Community Collage and another at 161  Main Street. Santa will be at ArtWorks from noon to 3:30 p.m. A Fire Truck Parade at 4:30p.m.  will take Santa to the gazebo in Church park. The EBH choir will sing at 5 p.m. and Santa will light  50 Christmas trees for the Fantasy of Lights. This year Saint Peters Episcopal Church is hosting a Living Nativity complete with animals. After the tree lighting at 5 p.m., the crowd moves to Main Street for a good old fashioned street fair. Enjoy some delicious Southern Smoke BBQ and Connie’s Waffles food trucks. Take a horse and wagon ride. The Public Library is doing Holiday Crafts for kids to make and take. Stop in and enjoy the music at GVFCU from 5 to 8 p.m. It’s fun to wander down the street and bump into friends and neighbors enjoying the evening. Discover five ice sculptures located on Main Street and watch ice carving from 3 to 7 p.m. on the corner of Main & Ossian Streets. Clara Barton Chapter #1 American Red Cross Open House 6 to 8 p.m. There is a Wine & Spirits Walk from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Wristbands and commemorative glasses go on sale at 126 Main at 5 p.m. The magic of Winter in the Village (all day and evening) is found in all people who do their special part. Many service clubs, scouts, churches, business, school district and community members participate. “Winter Wonderland” is this year’s theme for the window decorations. There is parking behind the buildings and on the side streets.Two blocks of Main Street will be closed to vehicular traffic from 4:30  to 9.m.
