Dansville Central Superintendent Paul Alioto would like to inform Dansville Central School District faculty, staff, and parents of the new database that allows residents of Livingston County to search for sex offenders close to where they live.
The database and search tool called OffenderWatch, allows residents to enter their address and then displays a map of the surrounding area marked with the addresses of the sex offenders.
The program can be accessed by going to the Sheriff's Office website at livingstoncounty.us/sheriff and clicking on the offender watch link on the right of the page.
"Livingston County residents have a right to know who may be living near them, and could potentially pose a threat to their families," Livingston County Sheriff Thomas Dougherty said. "The Sheriff's Office and the local police departments are using OffenderWatch and have the most up to date information on all the offenders registered in the county. I am happy to be able to provide that information to them."
The Dansville Central Board of Education is making this tool possible for you to be informed of the sex offenders living within the school district. Also there is a link to OffenderWatch on the school website.
