TROUPSBURG — The Jasper-Troupsburg School Board kept its leadership while swearing in the last of two new members Wednesday night.

Members unanimously re-elected President Andrew Cornell and Vice President Robert Lemay.

Jodi M. Van Gordon and Chad C. Groff are new board members. Groff, who was sworn in at the meeting, is the Canaseraga Central superintendent and president of the Steuben-Allegany Health Insurance Consortium, the health insurance carrier for Jasper-Troupsburg.

Van Gordon received the highest number of votes May 16 so was immediately sworn in as the replacement for board member Cameron “Mitch” Bulloch, who had resigned.

In addition to re-filling every appointed position in the district from superintendent to tax collector, board members approved moving forward with LaBella Associates in formal planning for an estimated more than $3 million in capital improvement projects.

Architect Alton G. Ainslie of LaBella Associates told board members two weeks ago that major work in the projects includes replacing or overlaying significant portions of roofing at the Jasper High School and Troupsburg Elementary School.

Much of the work includes replacing ballasted roofs near the end of their useful lives. Both district buildings have large sections of ballasted roofs.
