LIVONIA — Police have recovered the body of one of two western New York men who are presumed to have drowned after their snowmobile broke through the ice on one of the Finger Lakes. The Livingston County Sheriff's Office says Jason Fluet's body was found a few hours after search efforts resumed Wednesday morning on Conesus. The search was suspended last week because of worsening ice conditions. Authorities say Christopher Copeland, of Livonia, and Fluet, of Rochester, both 40, went out on a single snowmobile early on the morning of Feb. 11 and never returned. They're believed to have gone through thin ice on the northern end of the lake, the westernmost of the Finger Lakes. Authorities say the search for Copeland's body was continuing Wednesday afternoon.
