Carolee Jean Seeley, passed away Monday evening, Jan. 9, 2012, at Noyes Memorial Hospital, Dansville.

She was born in Plainfield, N.J., on April 7, 1934, a daughter of the late Steven and Myrtle Apgar Boxwell. She was also predeceased by a son, Kenneth Seeley.

Carolee was an occupational therapist for Craig Developmental Center in Sonyea, retiring in 1989. Carolee was married on June 24, 1950, at Fort Dix, N.J., to William Seeley Sr., who survives. She was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church of Dansville and was a Daniel Goho American Legion Post Gold Star Mother. She enjoyed spending time with her family, raising and showing her many Arabian horses.

In addition to her husband of 61 years, she is survived by three children, William (Peggy) Seeley Jr. of Dansville, Bonnie (Clyde) Lewis of Alfred, Sandra (Charles) Menz of Fairport; a daughter-in-law, Rachel (Kenneth) Seeley of Dansville; two brothers, Jay (Jane) Boxwell of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Charles Boxwell of Naples, Fla.; a sister, Pam (Robert) Werth of Dansville; eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call 4-8 p.m. Thursday at Hindle Funeral Home, Inc., 271 Main St., Dansville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Mary’s Church. Interment will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Dansville. Online remembrances may be left at hindlefuneral­home.com.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
