The monthly by donation Spaghetti Dinner and Music Jam at the Webster's Crossing Church on Route 15 between Conesus and Springwater is the place to be on Thursday evening, Aug. 23. Locally grown produce will be served at the salad table. The dinner is 4:30-7 p.m. and the music goes on into the night as long as people care to participate.
Last week I mentioned that you might want to put the Roast Beef Dinner for Sept. 8 at Webster's Crossing Church on your calendar. This week, please jot down the Benefit for Robert Knudsen Jr. for Sept. 15. It will be a Chicken Barbecue and Jamboree at the Wayland Rod and Gun Club at 1 p.m. Robert suffers from brain cancer and his family and friends hope you will come to one or both activities. The barbecue is $8 per person and so is the Jamboree, but if you choose to come to both it is $15.
The Springwater Trails hike and paddle at Canadice Lake was enjoyed by over 15 hikers and several boaters on Sunday, followed by an excellent tail gate party spread. Three new hikers and one new boater joined the group. The next 4 p.m. hike on Sunday Aug. 19, is scheduled for Reynolds Gully and Town Line with the social at Tamarak Campgrounds. Visit either the www.townofspringwaterny.org or the www.springwatertrails.org website for further details. Newcomers, regulars, and some-timers are always welcome.
