Luminaries spell the word "hope" in the home-team bleachers. Across the field was the word "cure" during last year's event

 Three event highlights
1 Participants will come together this weekend in Dansville to honor cancer survivors, their caregivers and pay tribute to those for whom the cure did not come soon enough.

2 The relay is an overnight celebration where people take turns walking, running or otherwise circling around a track “relay” style to raise funds to fight cancer. One of the many highlights of the event is the luminaria service or candlelight vigil held at nightfall to honor cancer survivors and caregivers and to remember those lost to cancer.

3 This year’s relay has about 200 participants, 15 teams and more than $16,000 raised toward its $40,000 goal so far. Donations will go directly to American Cancer Society services, research, education and to Hope Lodge in Rochester.?

Why you should attend
“Relay For Life is a world-wide movement to end cancer. It is a great way to give back or be involved with community efforts and offers a place for celebration and healing. Relay For Life is much more than an event, it is an experience.” — Erin Harvey, ACS community representative
