April is generally when schools across the country schedule spring break. If your kids are in college, they may be heading off to enjoy a week with friends. But if your kids are still young enough to enjoy a family vacation, spring break is the perfect opportunity to seek out the sun for a week. And, of course, photos will be taken!
Display spring holiday photos in what I call a table tent. The supplies needed are minimal, but the impact is great. And it can be folded closed to be stored and saved for next year once the photos have worn out their welcome.
Trim a sheet of cardboard to 7 by 12 inches, and fold it in half to create a tent. Cut a small slit in both bottom corners of the front and back panel. Thread ribbon through and tape the ribbon ends with packing tape. Cover the board with patterned paper and punch two 1/4-inch holes along the folded edge to hold the rings that will act as the binding for this display.
Cut black card stock 5-3/4 x 6-3/4 inches, and punch two holes to align with the holes in the tent. Decorate the first black page as the cover, with patterned paper and/or flower die cuts and label with a white pen. If you want to save money, you can create your own patterned paper like I did, using a white Gelly Roll pen and a few colors of craft paint.
Attach photos to the front and back of each black page and add occasional embellishments. Titles and journaling look great when written with the same white pen. Attach the embellished pages to the table tent with rings that you can pick up at any stationery or office-supply store.
