1 It starts with the ‘Glow’ Get an upclose and personal view of about a half-dozen balloons Thursday, Aug. 30, at Brae Burn beginning at 7 p.m. Balloons will inflate at dusk as visitors are encouraged to walk around the balloons and meet the pilots. The Brae Burn event is free and open to the public; events at the festival grounds are $5 per person, children ages 12 and under are free. No charge for parking.

2 First launch on Friday  Weather permitting, the first scheduled launch is at 6 p.m. on Friday. Gates open at 4 p.m., where visitors can catch food and craft vendors before the launch. Tether rides will also be available from 6 to 9 p.m., weather permitting, at $15 per person. Children under age 12 are $10.

3 All-day fun on Saturday  First scheduled launch is at 6 a.m., then gates will open Saturday at 10 a.m. where visitors can peruse more than 200 food and craft vendors. At 11 a.m., the second-annual vintage snowmobile show will start, as will children’s amusements. Concerts will commence throughout the afternoon. Then a second scheduled launch and tethered rides begins at 6 p.m.

4 Sunday is a big hit, too  Sunday’s first launch is scheduled for 6 a.m., then gates open for arts and crafts vendors at 10 a.m. At 11 a.m., children’s amusements start, as does the classic car show. Concerts run throughout the afternoon beginning at 1 p.m., then another balloon launch and tethered rides begin at 6 p.m., weather permitting. Monday morning’s 6 a.m. launch ends the festival.

5 “Kidding Around” to take place on Main Street  For the first time, festival-goers are encouraged to visit downtown Dansville to take part in creating sidewalk chalk art, play old fashioned games, make crafts, and walk through a hot-air balloon envelope.
