Three event highlights

1 Wayland Potato Festival, organized by Wayland Fire and Ambulance Department and sponsored by local businesses and organizations, will once again highlight the happenings in the village of Wayland beginning at 6:30 p.m. Friday with the fireman’s waterball competition behind the Wayland Fire Hall.

 

2 Victory Park opens Saturday at 7 a.m for potato pancakes, then a Vincent House 5k run/walk starts at 8:45 a.m. for runners and 9 a.m. for walkers. Food and craft vendor booths open at 9 a.m. Live music, a Wayland Rotary cake booth, beer and clams, plus a car show and swap meet will run throughout the day. Fireworks will conclude the day at dusk.

 

3 On Sunday, gates will open again at 7 a.m. for potato pancakes, then a church service at 8:30 a.m. from Lighthouse Wesleyan Church. Vendor booths and tractor pull begins at 9 a.m. Live music throughout the day beginning at 11 a.m. Gates close at 5 p.m.
