The early morning signs were a washout.
Organizers at West Sparta’s Old Fashioned Day, returning for a second year last Saturday, were gearing up for a wet, dreary Saturday, but just after the event got underway, the clouds were gone and out came the sun.
“I think it was very successful,” said Sarah Booher. “We had a few new features this time.”
In addition to the Civil War reenactments, kids area and live music from last year, event-goers were able to see historic farm equipment, like a wheat thrasher.
Booher said the numbers of attendees was lower than what she had hoped, but she attributed that mostly to the rain that had soaked the field next to the West Sparta Town Hall and the thunderstorms that had kept many awake the night before.
